Marketing Executive

Main purpose of role:

We are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our growing team. This is a broad role leading various marketing functions within a dynamic department, but primarily focussed upon digital products including websites (totalsolution), social media and apps (mytaxapp). You will have the opportunity to work on integrated marketing campaigns and gain valuable experience across multiple channels.

You should be a confident person with excellent communication and organisational skills to assist our Marketing and Product Development Manager with client liaison and system support. You will be required to interact with various departments, suppliers and clients, so you must be a confident communicator with a professional manner.

Duties include:

  • Dealing with clients on a daily basis, via phone, email and online chat
  • Direct Marketing and digital campaigns
  • Database management - Keep the marketing database up-to-date, importing new data, updating records and performing the necessary cross checks
  • Prepare marketing statistics/campaign reporting
  • Electronic filing as required
  • Research new industry events and competitors
  • Create and prepare materials for planned meetings, liaising with the Marketing and Product Development Manager
  • Create and contribute to the project plans and strategies
  • Online and Email Marketing Planning and Implementation
  • Increasing online traffic with digital related campaigns
  • Review websites and upload marketing materials
  • Monitor website analytics and report back as required / provide assistance in maintaining Google Ads/ Google AdWords and SEO activities
  • Review and enhance social media activity
  • Manage email distribution list including new subscriptions, opt-outs and bounce backs
  • Plan and implement e-mail marketing activities
  • Assist in producing marketing materials (brochures, online banners, merchandising)
  • Work with Marketing Assistant to monitor literature stock levels,, order stock and implement any amendments to the literature
  • Contribute ideas for new campaigns and supporting literature in conjunction with the Marketing Product Development Manager

Skills and Experience Required:

A background in advertising/marketing/ is required and previous experience as a Marketing Assistant/Executive is essential.

  • 1+ year experience in a marketing role
  • Understanding of websites and online marketing is essential
  • Experience of using Social Media in business
  • Good communication skills (including excellent written skills)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Creative with a customer focused approach
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good telephone manner

Print Room Apprentice

Main purpose of role:

We are looking for a Print Room Apprentice to assist in the production & distribution of training course material, marketing material & printing requirements for all of our brands:

  • Mercia
  • SWAT UK
  • Quantum
  • Mercia Ireland
  • Quorum

Duties include:

  • The operation and maintenance of print production equipment & software. (Training will be provided to ensure safe operating procedures are followed)
  • Handling incoming & outgoing shipments.
  • Packing course material and shipping to various venues across the country & occasionally internationally.
  • Tracking and confirming shipments with venues and clients to ensure delivery & liaising with courier service providers where necessary
  • Liaising with internal & external speakers to obtain course material for printing
  • Includes regular communication with the SWAT UK course coordinators in Plymouth to ensure their print schedule & requirements are up to date
  • Assisting with the monitoring stock levels of print supplies, papers, toners, stationery, etc
  • Quality control
  • Spot checking other colleague’s work to maintain standards & minimise errors
  • Data entry
  • Providing holiday cover for the Royal Mail post processing
  • General admin tasks

Skills and Experience Required:

This role will ideally suit a person who is:

  • A motivated & confident team player. They will be working in a small team within a larger department
  • A good communicator. Essential they can communicate well through the various media platforms we have here
  • IT savvy. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a keen attitude to learning all about print software, drivers, systems etc
  • The role will involve handling large boxes of paper that can be 20kg+
  • Flexible & adaptable. Someone who is good at following processes but also capable of creative problem solving when needed.
  • At certain times they may be required to help out in other departments
  • Good with deadlines & pressure

Audit and Accounts technical consultant/file reviewer

The role includes:

Audit and accounts consultancy

  • Provision of audit consultancy and compliance services to firms who outsource their quality control
  • Visiting firms throughout the UK from national practices to sole practitioners to provide, hot and cold file reviews (circa 100- 120 days a year)
  • Conducting reviews remotely whilst office or home based and providing debrief of findings by phone
  • Writing reports and providing recommendations
  • Provision of consultancy via telephone technical support service, supporting other members of Mercia’s audit and accountancy team

Audit product and specialist assignment manuals

  • Input to the development and updating of our range of technical manuals, methodologies and paperless systems

Audit and accounts related marketing support products

  • Contribution to editorial and development of Mercia’s range of audit and accounts related marketing support products and services, articles for websites, newsletters etc

The role includes:

Training

  • Presenting audit and accounts CPD courses on Mercia’s national face to face, online and in house course programmes (circa 100 events per annum)
  • Keeping up to date with latest technical changes across a wide range of subjects and presenting this in an interesting and engaging style
  • Writing and developing technical yet practical course materials for use on face to face and online events. Influence over course content (and due to the practical nature of the courses there are no syllabus restrictions)
  • Assisting the training event managers with ideas for new courses, conferences and webinars
