Refresher Courses Outline
This is a half day course designed especially for those who already have experience of using the Mercia audit manual and wish to refresh their knowledge. The course is an excellent refresher on the key areas of the manual, including recent improvements made in 2009.
These courses will only run in the first half of the year as thereafter they will be replaced by Clarified ISA Update courses.
Courses cost £95 plus VAT per participant with a 10% discount for full members.
On completion of the course, participants will establish how to use the system more effectively, efficiently and in line with the requirements of the standards.
Content - Refresher Course
- Review of the risk focussed audit approach
- Efficiency and tailoring tips, including ‘creator’
- Documenting ethical compliance and implementing safeguards
- Ensuring ISA compliance with the risk assessment procedures including knowledge of the business, systems and controls, fraud and risks
- The free-form planning memorandum
- Proforma working papers
Throughout the course, the papers and procedures are illustrated by a case study.
Participants
All partners and staff who are involved in auditing. A basic knowledge of audit procedures and existing Mercia methodology is assumed.
Costs
£95 plus VAT per participant with a 10% discount for full members*.
No refund will be made when cancellation is received less than 14 days before the date of the course. All cancellations must be in writing.
*A member is a firm who pays an annual subscription (based upon the size of their practice) to belong to a Mercia training group. This does not include firms who buy season tickets.
