Mercia

David joined the Mercia audit and accounts team at the beginning of 1997 and over time has become one of our charity specialists. He qualified with Grant Thornton in Leicester where he had his first experience of lecturing. His role at Mercia includes chairing the Mercia Audit Manual Committee, as well as editing both the Charities and Pensions Specialist Assignment Manuals.  He is also involved in lecturing, conducting file reviews and answering technical queries.

David is married to Sarah and, both being keen rugby fans, hope that one day their son (Shem; born 2004) and daughter (Sylvia; born 2007) win caps for Saints, England and the Lions.  In whatever spare time is left, David is a volunteer at the Leicester branch of Samaritans and he spent 6 weeks over the summer of 2007, cycling 3,000 miles round the country visiting 75 other branches.
