Cathy French

Technical Lecturer & Consultant

After qualifying with PWC, Cathy spent most of her career working for a small firm. She acted as responsible individual, Audit Compliance Principal and Head of Finance and Administration before joining Mercia in 2018. Cathy has also previously worked for the Charity Commission and acted as Financial Controller for a substantial charity. A member of ICAEW, she holds the Institute’s diploma in charity accounting and has served on the Audit Registration Committee.

Cathy’s role at Mercia involves conducting compliance reviews, advising clients using the Technical Queries service, and compiling and marking the Certificate in Probate and Estate Administration assessment.

Away from work Cathy likes to run, swim and walk.  She is also an avid reader and writes a monthly book review blog.
